Success! Sweet, Sweet Success!!

The 2022-2023 school year is quickly coming to an end.  This coming Friday, we will have graduation exercises, and this year will be put to rest. All of our attention will be moved to the next school year.  Lots of planning and building and growing to be better in the 2023-2024 school year.

This year had to be the most successful year in the history of Minco Public Schools.  Here are some highlights of what proved to be a great year:

Our elementary after-school program for students is very strong.  The work these staff members have invested has given our students to excel in a lot of specifications, including STEM, physical fitness, and many other areas.  We were able to introduce an aviation program to many elementary students this year through the FAA. We have housed a helicopter simulator that for lack of a better word is cool! We also had a class recognized by the Department of Agriculture.  It was a great event for those students.

Our elementary,  middle school, and high school students achieve great things in the classroom as well.  Our faculty works so diligently with our students to teach them and help them grow as individuals.  The learning that happens in our classrooms is incredible.

In our extra-curricular activities this year, Minco students have excelled in ALL areas!  Our career tech programs such as FCCLA and FFA have produced nothing short of greatness.  The service projects that our students do are incredible.  We had two students elected to state offices in FCCLA and Oklahoma Career Tech Skills division.  The success of these organizations has been second to none.

Our Vocal program produced many top awards for middle school and high school participants.  In Band, we excelled tremendously this year.  Our students performed at the highest level at the regional competition.  Our students earned all superiors and advanced to the state competition where they earned excellent ratings in each scoring category.  The success of our fine arts was at a higher level than ever before.  I appreciate the efforts of our teachers in these important areas.

Our athletic programs achieved incredible amounts of success.  Our Fastpitch Softball team earned an appearance in the state tournament.  Our Football team made the playoffs for the thirteenth year in a row.  Our Basketball teams made it deep into the area playoffs. Finally, our track team produced two state champions, and several students placed in the top five of their event.  In the final standings, the boys' team finished 5th and the girls finished 4th in the state.  Overall our athletic teams had the best overall performance for a year ever.

Success is real, and we will strive to get better each day.  The success is from dedicated teachers, coaches, advisors, and especially our students.  The effort and time our children put in to be their best is incredible.  I am so thankful for them all and to our staff and students, I say thank you for your hard work this year. Truly, success is sweet!!
