It is imperative that your children check their classroom portals and emails daily should we have to move to remote learning. I am also cancelling next week's parent/teacher conferences and moving them from Feruary 18th to March 11th. In conjucton to the new date, we will be out of school on March 12th followed by spring break the next week. Please stay safe and warm next week. I will be sending reglaur updates through the week next week. We will have an update go out Sunday at 3:00PM. I appreciate your patience as we move through this situation. Dear parents/guardians: I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm and safe in this weather situation we are in. We are keeping a close eye on the weather for the rest of the week and into early next week. Safety is certainly of the utmost importance in what we do. In the event of icy or snowy conditions that could cause a cancellation of in-person instruction, we will notify you in a timely manor. We will use our school app, text-email , phone call and it will be placed on local media outlets. We are fully equipped and ready to roll out with distance learning plans. If your child is in elementary PK-5, your child will have a packet of paper work or instructions on their google classroom portal. Students in middle school and high school will access assignments on google classroom and email. Once again we are watching the situation closely, and we have our students prepared for distance learning. Be watching for updates. Thank you, Kevin Sims

The Road conditions on Gin Road and 152 as well as the side roads are very dangerous. We are not wanting to run our bus routes at all this afternoon. If your child rides a bus, we ask you to pick them up. If this is not possible, please call your child's school office to let us know. At this time we are NOT running busses this afternoon.

Minco Patrons, I am happy to report that the last two weeks Minco Public Schools has had no known cases of covid 19. We are very grateful for this. We also realize this will change, and we are ready to deal with this as in the past. There are some major changes however to certain rules of exposure and quarantining. If a student is exposed to covid 19 IN THE CLASSROOM, That student will be allowed to attend school academic classes. The students must wear a mask. The students who have been exposed in the classsroom although allowed to be in classes WILL NOT be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities such as athletics, band, FFA, FCCLA, vocal music and the such. These are the rules as amended by Governor Stitt and only refer to classroom exposure. We do believe this will help keep children in the classroom. Exceptions to this are students who are exposed outside the classroom settings. If a student is exposed in athletics, extracurricular activities or outside of the classroom such as home, he or she will be required to quarantine at home 10 days or 7 full days with a negative test days FIVE through SEVEN. This has been a challenging year for all for all of us. As we continue, let us strive to do our part to limit the spread of this evil virus. Please feel free to email me at ksims@minco.k12.ok.us if you should have any questions. Thank you, Kevin Sims Superintendent

Due to the ongoing pandemic, and the rigidity of the rules that we as a school have to deal with, we have decided that Minco Public Schools will not sponsor a prom this year. We are sorry, but we are required to follow the directives of the state department of health. That is why we have reached this particular decision. If the parents of the juniors and seniors elect to have a prom, it will not be school sanctioned or led. Thank you for you understanding in this matter. Regards, Kevin Sims, Superintendent
