This week, Mrs. Brassfield’s students visited the school garden to learn about how freezing temperatures affect plants and why it’s important to harvest before a freeze. After gathering the last of our veggies, we brought them inside to learn about preserving food — and they are even working on a batch of homemade chow chow! 🥒🍅
Our students are loving the hands-on lessons that connect science, agriculture, and real-life skills! 💚

Minco Public School Patrons,
As many of you know, the federal government is facing a potential shutdown this week. If the shutdown is not resolved by this Friday, families who receive SNAP benefits may experience delays in receiving their November assistance.
At Minco Public Schools, we want to make sure no child goes hungry during this time. Please know that we provide hot breakfasts and lunches every day for all of our students. If your family is affected by this situation, we encourage you to make sure your children take advantage of these meals at school each day.
In addition, if you work for the federal government and are furloughed without pay, we encourage you to re-apply for free or reduced-price meals for your children. Our goal is to ensure that every student continues to have access to nutritious meals, regardless of the circumstances at home.
We understand how difficult and uncertain this time can be for many families, and we are here to support you. Our priority is the well-being of every child in our district.
Thank you for your continued support of Minco Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Kevin Sims

This Friday!

7th Grade Geography got hands-on with history! Our Roman roads were built with brownie mix, cookie dough, and crushed Oreos — and yes, they were deliciously educational

The football game has been moved to Thursday night!

Basketball Pictures next Thursday, Oct. 30th.

Our 8th–12th grade students participated in a Safe Driving Day yesterday at Minco High School. Students heard from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, VOID (Victims of Impaired Drivers) founders Jeff and Kristy Murrow, Mrs. Baade, and the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. They also experienced a rollover simulator and a drunk driving golf cart obstacle course. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event both educational and impactful!
Our second graders had the best day at Jahn’s Pumpkin Hill! From wagon rides to pumpkin picking, smiles were everywhere!
